Land Speed Record

The intersection of machining and barbeque leads us to these [folks](http://ww w.stirlingsouth.com/richard/develop/engines_under_development.htm) who are working on creating improved Stirling Engines.

They've gone silent now that they are committed to the construction of a vehicle that will break the land speed record (for stirling engines).

The part that I find so fascinating is their pursuit of elliptical gears. The approach they essay makes one long for a Wire EDM machine.

The only thing this has to do with Q is The Stirling Powered Rotissere aka The Chicken Flinger

Now that's putting waste heat to good use.
